KB5025310 for Windows 11, introduced PrtScr as a default shortcut for Snipping tools. This overrides all current shortcuts if you have some additional software for this purpose (print screen or video recording).
To switch it off, follow the next:
Option 1
- Press Windows + I on your keyboard to open Settings
- Select Accessibility on the left menu
- Select “keyboard” on the right side
- Find “Use the Print Screen button to open Snipping Tool” (“Use the Print Screen key to launch screen snipping” in Windows 10) and switch it off.
Option 2
- Open Regedit
- Find HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Keyboard key
- Create or modify a new DWORD (32-bit) value PrintScreenKeyForSnippingEnabled, and set its value to 0.
After these actions, open an existing program, such as SnagIt, and configure PrtScr again as a default shortcut, by setting the shortcut to something else and then back.
