How to copy phone contacts to Google, SIM or phone?

Phone contacts for android phones are stored on SIM, phone or on Google. If you have more then one phone, best way to keep them updated is to date is to store them on Google account and connect all phones on one account.

Sometime we must change our phone, so we need to transfer numbers from phone to phone. There are 2 steps how to store them on Google.

Step 1 – export contacts to .vcf file (vCard)

  • Open the Contacts app (People on some devices)
  • Tap the menu button
  • Tap Import/Export
  • Tap Export
  • Choose from where you wish to export contacts – google, SIM and/or phone
  • Tap Export to SD card or Export to USB storage
  • Remember file (vCard) name

Step 2 – import contacts to .vcf file (vCard)

  • Open the Contacts app
  • Tap the menu button
  • Tap Import/Export
  • Tap Import
  • Tap Google
  • Select Import vCard file, and tap OK
  • Choose vCard file to import
  • Tap OK
  • Allow the import to complete
